One of the most critical times of your dog’s life is at the age of 10 weeks to 5 months. In order to get the right start, Canyon Crest has designed a Puppy - Preschool course to help give guidance to new puppy owners and teach them how to socialize and deal with everyday puppy problems in a very positive manner. They will be able to interact with other puppies and humans in the beginning and at the end of each class. This class will build a strong foundation for any future formal obedience classes that begins at the age of 6 months. In this class we will be using your puppy’s food in our training technique to show direction a long with the leash. Because of your puppy’s age, food will be the beginning motivation gradually replacing the food with your praise and leash direction only. This way your puppy will not grow up depending on food but your praise.

Our next Puppy Pre-School series will begin on June 5th - at 6:45 - 7:45 p. m.

Classes are held every Thursday for five consecutive weeks. Cost: $225

Qualifications:

• 10 weeks to five months
• Current on vaccines
• 6 foot nylon leash
• Flat nylon collar
• A handful of dry food and an appetite

This training includes, but is not limited to:

• Beginning training - leash - sit - come - down - stay
• Handle common puppy problems - jumping, nipping, chewing, housebreaking
• Train your puppy in a positive and rewarding way
• Socialize your puppy properly and safely to dogs and people
• Avoid common mistakes that lead to future behavior problems

Training sessions includes an instructional booklet.
